**Show D-Log vs D-Log2 on DJI clips in DaVinci Resolve.**

Resolve reads DJI takes as Rec.709 even when you shot log. The camera hides the
real profile in a Keys field (`com.dji.camera.ColorGammaSxS` /
`DjiCameraColorGammaSxS`) that Resolve never maps.

Select clips → run the script → the Media Pool shows **D-Log2**, **D-Log**,
**D-Log M**, **HLG**, or **Rec.709**. Log clips also get a clip color. When the file includes a camera model, the
script imports it into Resolve’s **Camera Type** metadata field.

## Install

**Mac** (double-click `install.command` after unzipping, or):

Restart Resolve if it is already open.

**Windows:** Resolve will not list this script until **64-bit Python 3** is
installed (python.org, add to PATH). If **Workspace → Scripts** is empty after
a restart, see
[Troubleshooting](docs/user-guide.md#troubleshooting).

## Use

1. Import **original** MP4 / MOV takes (not `.LRF` / `.XRF` / `.LRV` proxies).
2. Select them in the Media Pool.
3. **Workspace → Scripts → DJI Clip Color**.
4. Show the **D-Log / D-Log2** text in the list: Media Pool **list view** →
   Customize Columns → search **`notes`** or **`keyword`** (not `dji`) → add
   **Color Space Notes** or **Keywords** → Save. There is no DJI Color column.
   Clip color (orange / navy) shows without this. Full clicks:

To see the source camera beside the color profile, add **Camera Type** in
Customize Columns (search `camera`). This helps you choose a camera-specific
D-Log M IDT; the script does not choose or apply a DCTL.

**Osmo Pocket 3:** the camera does **not** write that Keys field, even on
original `.MP4` takes (D-Log M, Rec.709, HLG). Color tagging is skipped
(`no ColorGammaSxS`), but camera metadata is imported if present. Pocket 4 / 4P originals do write it. Rec.709 never
gets a clip color — only Color Space Notes — so a 4P Rec.709 stamp can
still look empty if that column is off.

## Input Color Space / Gamma

The script sets **Input Color Space** (and Input Gamma where Resolve has one)
on every selected clip to the matching DJI option. That is what Resolve Color
Managed needs. A **node-based** workflow (CST on the first node) does not need
those clip tags — you already define the space in the node tree.

Resolve only accepts those clip writes while Color Science is Color Managed, so
the script may briefly switch Color Science and **Use separate color space and
gamma**, then **restores your project Color Management**. Clip colors, Color
Space Notes, and grades stay. If a setting still looks off, put it back in
**File → Project Settings → Color Management**.

**Resolve 21.1** added official **DJI D-Gamut2** / **DJI D-Log2** CSTs. The
script uses those from 21.1 on. Older Resolve has no D-Log2 profile — D-Log2
stays **Same as Timeline**, not DJI D-Log (tagging D-Gamut still shows as
D-Log). **D-Log M** still has no official profile (no white paper); it is
tagged Rec.709. Use a LUT or a CST for D-Log M.

## Probe a file

The probe prints the color profile and camera model, or states which metadata
is missing. Camera models are read directly from DJI `©mdl` UserData and
`com.dji.camera.CameraModel` / `com.apple.quicktime.model` Keys metadata in the file’s last 2 MiB. No
MediaInfo or ExifTool installation is required. Missing camera metadata leaves
any existing Camera Type unchanged; present metadata replaces it.
