BackstabRecomp is an experimental Windows x64 port of **BackStab HD for Android 1.2.8d**. It executes the original user-supplied ARMv7 game library through AndroidRecomp and implements the Android, JNI, OpenGL ES, audio, filesystem, input, and lifecycle behavior required by the game.

No commercial game files are included.

## Controls

## Current features

- native Windows x64 host application;
- ARMv7 execution through Dynarmic;
- working boot, menus, gameplay, saves, and language selection;
- real-time paced SDL AudioTrack output;
- keyboard, mouse, and SDL game-controller (untested) support;
- native-resolution borderless fullscreen and windowed mode;
- 16:9 and ultrawide Hor+ rendering with a protected 16:9 UI region;
- ultrawide frustum-culling compatibility (seems to not work properly);
- automatic pause on focus loss and Alt+Tab handling;
- configurable frame cap and experimental unlocked frame rate;
- stable high-resolution UI-atlas aliasing;
- desktop OpenGL shader compatibility fixes.

## known issues

To close the game you need to do Alt+Tab and close from the task bar.
Text in other languages is partially broken at moment.
Mouse + keyboard support still need improvements. Not tested with a gamepad.

## Requirements to build from source

- Windows 10 or Windows 11 x64;
- Visual Studio 2022 with Desktop development with C++ and CMake tools;
- Python 3.10 or newer;
- AndroidRecomp as a sibling directory or under `vendor/AndroidRecomp`;
- a legally obtained BackStab HD Android 1.2.8d APK and external data folder.

## Prepare game files

prepare-game.bat "C:\Path\BackStab.apk" "C:\Path\com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftSDHM"
```

The tool extracts only `lib/armeabi-v7a/libPirates.so`, verifies the supported SHA-1, and copies external data into the ignored local staging directory.

## Build

This project is heavily based on the PvZ2Native project. Their team is composed by: OptiJuegos, staFF6773, and Eliandro4. Also uses some stuff from backstab-vita by v-atamanenko and Rinnegatamante.
