# 설치 가이드

1. 코드 내려받기

git clone https://github.com/bytebase/dbcost

깃허브에서 프로젝트 코드 전체를 내 컴퓨터로 내려받습니다.

cd dbcost

방금 내려받은 프로젝트 폴더 안으로 이동합니다.

2. Node.js

쉬움 추천

사전 준비물

Git GitHub에서 프로젝트 코드를 내려받으려면 필요합니다.
Node.js npm 명령어를 쓰려면 Node.js가 설치되어 있어야 합니다. LTS(장기지원) 버전을 추천합니다.

cd ./frontend && pnpm install

방금 내려받은 프로젝트 폴더 안으로 이동합니다.

pnpm dev

개발/실행 서버를 켭니다.

✅ 명령어 실행 후 터미널에 나타나는 주소(보통 http://localhost:3000 형태)를 브라우저에서 열어보세요.

이 레포의 README에 적힌 실제 명령어를 그대로 가져왔습니다.

3. Go

보통

사전 준비물

Git GitHub에서 프로젝트 코드를 내려받으려면 필요합니다.
Go Go 언어 컴파일러 및 도구 모음입니다.

go run ./seed/main/go

따로 빌드하지 않고 바로 Go 프로그램을 실행합니다.

✅ 빌드가 에러 없이 끝나면 성공입니다. go run . 을 썼다면 터미널 출력을 확인하세요.

## Background

The market lacks a tool for developers to compare different database products before making a final decision. A site, where all available cloud providers' database performance and cost can be demonstrated, is desired.

- **Next.js** with **React 18**.
- **Ant Design** as component library.
- **Nivo** for chart visualization.
- **Cron** task by **GitHub Actions**.

### Requirement

- [Go v1.7](https://go.dev/dl/)
- [pnpm](https://pnpm.io) for package management

## How to start?

This project is under development and is very unstable. The way to start this project may improve as process goes on.

### Fetching Data

We maintain our data through a GitHub Actions CronJob. It runs every day to make sure the pricing data is up to date. The data on dbcost.com is provided at [here](https://github.com/bytebase/dbcost/blob/main/data/dbInstance.json).

### Installing Frontend Dependencies

```
cd ./frontend && pnpm install
```

### Starting the Frontend

```
pnpm dev
```

Now dbcost is available at [localhost:3000](localhost:3000)

### Seeding data manually

If you would like to fetch the latest data manually, please apply for a [GCP API KEY](https://cloud.google.com/apigee/docs/api-platform/security/api-keys) with access to the [Cloud Billing API](https://cloud.google.com/billing/docs/reference/rest) first. For AWS, the API is open to everyone, you do not need a API KEY to access relevant resource.

First set environment variable:

```
export API_KEY_GCP={YOUR_API_KEY}
```

Then run the following command:

```
go run ./seed/main/go
```
