# MongoMan

A modern, web-based MongoDB admin interface built with Next.js, shadcn/ui, and Tailwind CSS. MongoMan provides an intuitive way to manage your MongoDB databases, collections, and documents with a clean and responsive UI.

> ⚠️ **Note**: This project is currently under active development. Some features may be missing or partially implemented. Bug reports, feature requests, and contributions are warmly welcomed! Please feel free to open issues or submit pull requests.

## Environment Variables

To run this project, you will need to add the following environment variable:

`MONGODB_URI` - Your MongoDB connection string (e.g., mongodb://localhost:27017)

## Run Locally

Clone the project

```bash
git clone git@github.com:AienTech/mongoman.git
```

Go to the project directory

```bash
cd mongoman
```

Install dependencies

```bash
yarn install
```

Set up your environment variables

```bash
cp .env.example .env.local
```

Then edit `.env.local` with your MongoDB connection string.

Start the development server

```bash
yarn dev
```

## Docker Installation

Run with docker-compose:

```yaml
version: '3'
services:
  mongoman:
    image: ghcr.io/aientech/mongoman:main
    environment:
      - MONGODB_URI=mongodb://mongo:27017
    ports:
      - '3000:3000'
```

Or run directly with Docker:

```bash
docker run -p 3000:3000 -e MONGODB_URI=mongodb://mongo:27017 ghcr.io/aientech/mongoman:main
```

### Using Specific Versions

For production use, it's recommended to use specific version tags instead of `main`:

```bash
docker pull ghcr.io/aientech/mongoman:0.1.1
```

Available tags:

- `latest` - Latest stable release
- `main` - Latest development build
- `0.1.1`, `v0.1.1` - Specific version tags
- `0.1` - Latest patch version in the 0.1.x series

## Releases

MongoMan uses semantic versioning for releases. Each release includes:

- Versioned Docker images on GitHub Container Registry
- Automated changelog
- Installation instructions

## Building from Source

Build the Docker image:

```bash
docker build --build-arg MONGODB_URI=mongodb://temporary:27017 -t mongoman .
```
