Tools, configuration, and reference documentation for using the **Divimath SeekerHD (Sony IMX462)** camera with Raspberry Pi systems for low-latency HDMI and composite analog video.

This repository packages the working SeekerHD installer and documents the two intentional changes that make this setup different from a stock `rpicam-apps` installation:

1. **Full-frame DRM preview scaling** - a small `rpicam-apps` C++ change that disables aspect-ratio letterboxing in the DRM preview path. This is required for full-width/anamorphic 16:9 composite output without black bars.
2. **SeekerHD IMX462 tuning profile** - a custom libcamera tuning file optimized for low-light FPV video with a more aggressive low-light AGC ceiling and a shadow-lifting gamma curve.

The installer also configures the camera overlay, KMS/composite modes, PAL/NTSC frame pacing, HDMI modes, systemd auto-start, and optional USB Ethernet gadget mode.

## Supported reference hardware

- Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ (most camera/video configuration applies; USB gadget support is intended for Zero-class OTG ports)
- Divimath SeekerHD / IMX462 camera
- Raspberry Pi OS 64-bit

## Quick start

The ready-to-use package is under [`installer/`](installer/).

For a new SD card:

1. Flash Raspberry Pi OS (Lite) 64-bit with Raspberry Pi Imager.
    -  Choose operating system > Raspeberry Pi OS (other) > Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit)
2. Configure user, Wi-Fi, SSH, and locale in Imager.
3. Copy the contents of `installer/` to the root of the boot partition before first boot.
4. Edit `seekerhd.conf` if desired.
5. Boot the Pi. The one-shot `vendor-data` installer configures SeekerHD and reboots once.

After initial installation, edit settings over SSH:

sudo reboot
```

## Current video defaults

The sensor mode remains 1920x1080. The analog render stream is deliberately kept at the correct source aspect ratio before the DRM plane scales it to the PAL/NTSC raster.

## Upstream projects

SeekerHD uses Raspberry Pi's `rpicam-apps`, which is built on libcamera. The DRM preview modification in this repository applies to `rpicam-apps`; it does **not** modify libcamera itself.

The supplied `rpicam-apps` runtime is based on **rpicam-apps v1.12.0**. Source rebuilds should use the matching tag when reproducibility matters.
