## Installation
Currently the only supported installation is by building from source.

### Build from Source

##### The following below are required:
**Build Tools**:
- `meson`
- `valac`
- `ninja`

**Libraries**
- `gtk4`
- `libadwaita-1`
- `gio-2.0`
- `gobject-2.0`
- `glib-2.0`

GIO and GObject are normallypart of GLib, for most distributions you only need to install the GLib development package.

**Fedora**
```bash
sudo dnf install meson ninja-build vala gtk4-devel libadwaita-devel glib2-devel
```

**Ubuntu / Debian**
```bash
sudo apt install meson ninja-build valac libgtk-4-dev libadwaita-1-dev libglib2.0-dev
```

**Arch Linux**
```bash
sudo pacman -S meson ninja vala gtk4 libadwaita glib2
```

**Building Instructions**

```bash
git clone https://github.com/monoxide-lab/Notelet.git
cd Notelet

# Setup the meson project
meson setup build --prefix=/usr

# Build the project
cd build
ninja

# Install
sudo ninja install
```

After installation, Notelet can be found in your application launcher.

To uninstall:
```bash
sudo ninja uninstall
```

## About Notelet
Notelet was created with intention to be a small and simple notes writing application, utilising Mutters `Always on Top to provide you with notes when you most need it without having to alt-tab between windows.

Notelet takes on heavy inspiration from macOS app 'Stickies' and Windows `Sticky Notes` but aims to be much simpler in design, hence why Notelet relays on simple `.note` format which comes from the family tree of `.ini` configuration file.
