# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/dankito/RichTextEditor

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd RichTextEditor

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Gradle (Java/Kotlin)

Medium Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
JDK (Java) Required to build and run Java/Kotlin projects.
Gradle If the repo includes gradlew (Gradle Wrapper), you don't need to install Gradle separately.

cd DemoApp

This project's files live in a subfolder, so move into it first.

./gradlew build

Builds the project using Gradle.

✅ A BUILD SUCCESSFUL message means it worked. The output is created under build/.

WYSIWYG editor for Android and JavaFX with a rich set of supported formatting options.

Based on [https://github.com/wasabeef/richeditor-android](url), but with more options like setting the font and text foreground and background color.
And it also has ready to use UI elements implemented for these.

- For all those it has predefined commands. You can use the [standard toolbar](RichTextEditorAndroid/src/main/kotlin/net/dankito/richtexteditor/android/toolbar/AllCommandsEditorToolbar.kt) or create your own within minutes.
- All commands have a Material Design icon. But of course you can give all of them your custom icon.

## Demo application

You can download it from [PlayStore](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dankito.richtexteditor.android), can use the [precompiled .apk](res/PlayStore/releases/2000100_v2.0.1_DemoApp-release.apk) or compile the DemoApp project yourself.
