# Collection of open-source bots for [robotgame](http://robotgame.net)

## What is it?

This is a collection of open-source bots for [robotgame](http://robotgame.net). It is useful for testing bots locally, without using the `Challenge` feature on the site.

## How to use it?

1. Clone the repository: 
    
    ```bash
    $ git clone https://github.com/mpeterv/robotgame-bots bots
    ```
    
    This creates `bots` directory containing all the bots.

2. Test your bots against open-source opponents using [rgkit](https://github.com/WhiteHalmos/rgkit): 
    
    ```bash
    $ rgrun <your-bot.py> <bots/open-source-bot.py>
    ```
    
    See below the list of available opponents.

3. [Optional] Update the repository:

```bash
    $ git pull --rebase origin master
    ```
    
    (Tip: run the command from the `bots` directory)

## How to add a bot?

Just send a pull request. Updating the list of bots is nice. Adding other people's bots is fine as long as they are marked as open-source on the site.
