A small compatibility patch for the reproducible **AltDaemon 1.0.1** crash on **iOS 17.0 through 17.3.1** in RootHide environments.

## The problem

On affected devices, AltDaemon crashes while accepting a new XPC connection:

## What this package does

This package does **not** include or redistribute AltDaemon.

It works with an already installed AltDaemon 1.0.1 executable and:

- Verifies that the expected ARM64 instructions are present
- Replaces two problematic call instructions with `NOP`
- Saves an untouched backup of the original executable
- Re-signs the patched executable with AltDaemon's required entitlements
- Restores the backup when this package is removed, when the backup is available

Original binary backup:

## Requirements

- iOS 17.0 through 17.3.1
- A RootHide environment
- AltDaemon 1.0.1 from the alias20 repository
- AltDaemonFix from the alias20 repository
- RootHide Patcher

The package was tested with Relaxin RootHide.

## Installation

1. Install **AltDaemon 1.0.1** and **AltDaemonFix** from the alias20 repository.
2. Convert the required packages with **RootHide Patcher** so they can run in your RootHide environment.
3. Install the converted AltDaemon and AltDaemonFix packages.
4. Download the latest `.deb` from this repository's Releases page.
5. Install the fix using Sileo, Zebra, Filza, or the command line.
6. Perform a userspace reboot or respring if AltDaemon does not restart automatically.

Command-line installation:

```

## Uninstallation

Remove **AltDaemon iOS 17 RootHide Fix** from Sileo or Zebra.

When possible, the package automatically restores the original AltDaemon executable from:

/var/mobile/Library/AltDaemonIOS17Fix/AltDaemon-1.0.1.original
```

For the safest restoration, remove this fix before removing AltDaemon itself.

## Technical details

The installer patches two ARM64 call sites in the installed AltDaemon executable:

| File offset | Original bytes | Patched bytes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `0x13DE8` | `0D 67 03 94` | `1F 20 03 D5` |
| `0x13E38` | `F9 66 03 94` | `1F 20 03 D5` |

`1F 20 03 D5` is the ARM64 encoding of a `NOP` instruction.

The installer is intended for the exact AltDaemon 1.0.1 binary described above. It should not blindly patch an unknown or modified executable.

## Tested configuration

- Device: iPhone 13 mini
- iOS: 17.3.1
- Jailbreak environment: Relaxin RootHide
- AltDaemon: 1.0.1 from the alias20 repository

Other devices and configurations may work, but have not been confirmed.

## Troubleshooting

### The package reports an unsupported or unexpected binary

Reinstall the correct AltDaemon 1.0.1 package, convert it with RootHide Patcher if required, and install this fix again.

### AltDaemon still crashes

Confirm that:

- AltDaemon 1.0.1 is installed
- AltDaemonFix is installed
- The required packages were converted for RootHide
- This fix was installed after AltDaemon
- A userspace reboot or respring was performed

### The original executable was not restored

Reinstall the matching original AltDaemon 1.0.1 package. The automatic restore only works when the saved backup is still available.
