## Setup

### Docker
#### Docker Desktop
- If you would like to run the project via Docker Desktop, follow these steps:

1. Copy `.env.example` to `.env`
2. Create Docker Containers
   - `docker-compose up -d`
3. Open Container
   - `docker-compose exec php bash`
4. Install composer dependencies
   - `composer install`
4. Run DB migrations (needed only once or on migration addition)
   - `php artisan migrate`
5. Link storage (needed only once)
   - `php artisan storage:link`
6. Install NPM dependencies (needed only once or on package changes)
   - `npm install`
7. Run the NPM dev build with --host option
   - `npm run dev -- --host`

#### Known errors:
##### Linux
- Fix for possible errors after logging into account:
    - `chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/storage /var/www/html/bootstrap/cache`

#### Docker Sail

- If you would like to run the project via Docker Sail, follow these steps:

1. Copy `.env.example` to `.env`
1. Install composer dependencies (in order to pull the Laravel Sail bash files, needed only once)
   - `docker run -it -v "$PWD:/app" composer composer install --ignore-platform-reqs`
2. Run the project
   - `./vendor/bin/sail up -d`
3. Run DB migrations (needed only once or on migration addition)
   - `./vendor/bin/sail artisan migrate`
4. Link storage (needed only once)
   - `./vendor/bin/sail artisan storage:link`
5. Install NPM dependencies (needed only once or on package changes)
   - `./vendor/bin/sail npm install`
6. Run the NPM dev build
   - `./vendor/bin/sail npm run dev`

## Setup (without Docker)

### Installation

> **Warning**
> Make sure to follow the requirements first.
Here is how you can run the project locally:
1. Clone this repo
    ```sh
    git clone https://github.com/theiotproject/key-manager.git
    ```

1. Go into the project root directory
    ```sh
    cd key-manager
    ```
1. Create database `key_manager` (you can change database name)

1. Install PHP dependencies 
    ```sh
    composer install
    ```

1. install front-end dependencies
    ```sh
    npm install && npm run dev
    ```

1. Copy .env.example file to .env file
    ```sh
    cp .env.example .env
    ```
1. Configure .env with your data

1. Configure mailhog <- Check <a href="https://github.com/mailhog/MailHog">here</a> how

1. Run migration
    ```
    php artisan migrate
    ```
    
1. Run server 
    ```sh
    php artisan serve
    ```

1. Visit `localhost:8000` in your favorite browser.

> Make sure to follow your Laravel local Development Environment.

## Testing
    
    php artisan test
