This repository contains the source for the IFORS 2026 tutorial "Decomposition Methods for Discrete Optimization Problems", including the slides and the Julia code used in the Benders and Dantzig-Wolfe examples.

## Install dependencies

Each Julia package has its own environment. If you want to use these environments to install the dependencies, open a terminal in the package folder, run Julia, and then instantiate the packages:

```bash
cd <folder> # Benders-CFLP or DW-BPP
julia
] # to enter package mode
activate . # to activate the local environment
instantiate
```

Alternatively, you can install all packages in your global Julia environment:

```bash
julia
] # to enter package mode
add JuMP
add HiGHS
add Printf
add FacilityLocationProblems
add https://github.com/rafaelmartinelli/BPPLib.jl # it's not in Julia's registry yet
add Knapsacks
```
