# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/babel/grunt-babel

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd grunt-babel

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Node.js

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Node.js Node.js must be installed to use npm. The LTS version is recommended.

$ yarn add --dev grunt-babel @babel/core @babel/preset-env

Type this command into your terminal and run it.

$ yarn add --dev grunt-babel@7 babel-core babel-preset-env

Type this command into your terminal and run it.

require('load-grunt-tasks')(grunt); // npm install --save-dev load-grunt-tasks

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

✅ After running the command, open the address shown in the terminal (usually something like http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

## Install

For Babel 7.x and grunt-babel v8
```sh
$ yarn add --dev grunt-babel @babel/core @babel/preset-env
```

For Babel 6.x and grunt-babel v7
```sh
$ yarn add --dev grunt-babel@7 babel-core babel-preset-env
```

usage of Babel 6.x. This README is primarily applicable for Babel 7.x

## Usage

### Option with load-grunt-tasks
```js
require('load-grunt-tasks')(grunt); // npm install --save-dev load-grunt-tasks

grunt.initConfig({
  babel: {
    options: {
      sourceMap: true,
      presets: ['@babel/preset-env']
    },
    dist: {
      files: {
        'dist/app.js': 'src/app.js'
      }
    }
  }
});

grunt.registerTask('default', ['babel']);
```

### Option with loadNpmTasks
```js
grunt.initConfig({
  babel: {
    options: {
