# OrbitGate

**A public local demo for deterministic verification of orbital and satellite claims.**

OrbitGate checks AI-generated space, satellite, and orbital-mechanics claims before they are treated as trustworthy. It routes claims through deterministic gates, records evidence, and exposes replayable benchmark artifacts so reviewers can see what was checked and why.

This repository is the **free local / open-source lite edition**. It is intended for product evaluation, developer testing, education, and integration demos. The paid JARVI3 deployment can embed OrbitGate inside the Packages Labs tab at `/orbitgate/`.

> OrbitGate is research software. It is not flight software, mission-control software, a certified orbital-dynamics tool, or a substitute for qualified aerospace review.

## Quick Start

Install Bun and Python, clone the repo, then run:

## Tamper Detection, Proven

A certificate is only trustworthy if tampering with it is actually caught, not just theoretically detectable. `orbitgate/orbit_attestation.py` signs every certificate with a real Ed25519 keypair, and `tests/test_orbitgate_attestation.py` proves it by performing the attack, not describing it:

- Signs a real certificate, then flips **exactly one bit** in the serialized JSON payload and shows `verify()` now fails with `SIGNATURE_INVALID`.
- Sweeps bitflips across the **entire signed envelope at ~40 byte offsets × 3 bit positions** and asserts every single one is caught (or breaks JSON parsing outright, which is itself a form of rejection).
- Forges a certificate by pasting a valid signature from a *different* certificate onto it — caught.
- Signs a tampered certificate with an attacker's own keypair — verifies fine against *that* key, but the public key embedded in the envelope no longer matches the issuer's, so a verifier pinned to the real issuer key rejects it.
- Confirms `verify()` fails closed (never throws) on missing fields and arbitrary malformed input.

JARVI3 can embed this app from Packages Labs via a same-origin iframe:

During Railway builds, JARVI3 can clone this public repo into `gates/orbitgate`, install Bun dependencies, start the Next.js app on an internal port, and proxy `/orbitgate/`, `/_next/`, and `/api/orbitgate/` traffic from the main FastAPI app.
