A complete Hyprland customization built around **Caelestia**, **end4-pC**, **Ambxst**, **DankMaterialShell (DMS)**, and **Noctalia v5**, with a one-command installer, Frieren SDDM theme, a dynamic desktop-profile switcher, and an auto-detected refresh-rate switcher.

This repository is for people who already have an **Arch/CachyOS-family Linux installation** and want the desktop customization. It does **not** install an operating system.

## ✨ What you get

The default installer sets up:

- ✦ **Caelestia** rice and user configuration

- a separate Hyprland profile for every rice
- a dynamic `SUPER + SHIFT + D` six-profile Multi-Rice switcher
- an auto-detected `SUPER + SHIFT + R` refresh-rate switcher
- saved end4 widget/top-bar layout and local album-art patches
- search-only end4 launcher with the workspace grid hidden
- **Frieren SDDM login theme**
- transactional pre-install backup and exact desktop rollback support in the v4 offline installer

**The installer does not choose or replace your desktop wallpaper.** The Frieren image belongs to the SDDM login theme only.

## ⇄ Switching rices

Press:

The switcher includes those six preferred profiles and also discovers additional valid profiles placed under `~/.local/share/desktop-profiles`.

Switching atomically repoints `~/.config/hypr` to the chosen profile and logs out so the next Hyprland session starts that rice.

## ↻ Refresh-rate switcher

Press:

The refresh switcher uses the same Fuzzel styling as the Multi-Rice switcher and is installed into all six Hyprland profiles.

The installer reads the machine DMI vendor/product automatically:

- **Zephyrus G16 detected:** enables the tested G16 profile with `60`, `90`, `120`, `144`, `165`, `180`, and `240 Hz`. The default automatic policy remains **120 Hz on battery / 240 Hz on AC**. A manual selection temporarily overrides the policy until the charger state changes or Auto is selected.
- **Any other laptop or desktop:** no custom modelines are generated. The switcher reads the focused monitor's `availableModes` from Hyprland and offers only the refresh rates advertised for that monitor's current resolution (OEM/EDID modes).

The G16 custom profile is pinned to the internal `eDP-*` panel and will not send its panel-specific modelines to an external monitor. The failed `52.03 Hz` experiment is intentionally excluded.

Every mode change uses a safety confirmation. **Revert is the first/default action**, and an unconfirmed change automatically reverts after 10 seconds.

Refresh-specific installer options:

## ● DankMaterialShell integration

DMS is deliberately **not** enabled as a global `dms.service`. In a Multi-Rice environment that could make DMS start on top of Caelestia, end4-pC, Ambxst, or Noctalia. Instead, the DMS Hyprland profile starts it with `dms run` only when the DMS rice is active.

The tested profile is based on DMS **v1.5.3** and uses Alacritty. Custom DMS shortcuts included in this setup are:

DMS wallpaper selection remains user-controlled; the installer does not force a wallpaper directory or replace the current desktop wallpaper.

## ◆ Ambxst integration

Ambxst is installed from the official `Axenide/Ambxst` repository. Its shell runs through Quickshell while axctl provides compositor IPC and generates Ambxst's supporting Hyprland state under:

## ◉ Noctalia v5 integration

Noctalia v5 is included as a first-class fifth rice with its own portable Hyprland profile, launcher/media/system panels, and saved configuration. The profile avoids forcing machine-specific DRM device paths on systems where those devices do not exist.

Its isolated profile lives at:

## 📦 Fully offline AppImage — v4.0.0

**Huzaifah Multi-Rice OFFLINE v4.0.0** is the current x86_64 fully-offline release. It bundles the six-rice desktop payload and its package closure so installation does not require a network connection.

Release assets:

The v4.0.0 build was validated in a CachyOS QEMU VM with networking disabled, with 685 package archives bundled. The same validation covered all six rices, Noctalia startup, and transactional uninstall/desktop restoration.

## 🌙 Frieren SDDM theme

The login theme lives under:

Its image asset:

is used by SDDM only. It is not installed as your desktop wallpaper.

## 🛟 Recovery

If a rice prevents the desktop from loading, switch to a TTY and run:

## 💾 Backing up the current Multi-Rice setup

The historical script/path names are retained for compatibility:

The backup/restore workflow covers all six Hyprland profiles, including Noctalia, together with the saved rice configuration, switcher files, package/version manifests, pinned source revisions, local patches, and selected portable state. Caches, `.env` files, private keys, and obvious credential/token files are excluded or block automatic pushing.

## ⚠️ Notes

This is a desktop-customization repository, not a universal Linux installer. The portable refresh switcher is part of the default Multi-Rice setup, but custom modelines are only enabled for the validated Zephyrus G16 profile. Bootloader changes, hibernation, and other hardware-specific ASUS/G16 actions remain explicit opt-ins.
